When your Dog Feels Good They Live Their Best Life!
Born To Run
Through the science of clinical massage and core fitness & conditioning, Angela Day will help you to completely transform your dogs’ life with results you will see and your dog will feel.
Massage releases tight, sore muscles improving, gait & posture, resolving lameness and reducing or eliminating pain – giving your dog back their “zest for life”
Core fitness & conditioning strengthens your dog's core muscles improving gait, posture, balance, mental and physical agility, focus, coordination, flexibility and endurance.
Born to Run provides a bespoke, quality, professional service, where every dog is treated with the respect, patience, empathy and compassion that their clients have come to know and love - because all dogs are different.
Angela works with all breeds, many from sporting backgrounds, but also dogs struggling with arthritis, hip dysplasia, cruciate injury and neurological conditions.
Working closely with you, your dog and your vet, Angela will tailor an aftercare plan to meet your dog's needs. This ensures sustainable post-massage results.
In addition to rehabilitating muscle through my CCA 8 week Core Fitness programmes I can help you balance, develop and define your dog's muscle and significantly improve their quality of life, wellbeing and fitness levels.
Clinical Canine Massage
Clinical Canine Massage is a vet endorsed manual therapy used to rehabilitate and relieve the pain of soft tissue and muscular injury in dogs.
Producing life-changing results in just 1 – 3 treatments, clinical massage is widely known for its success in treating patients with common but debilitating orthopaedic conditions like arthritis.
Working with your vet, clinical massage is both natural and non-invasive. It is the pain relief choice for dogs who suffer with orthopaedic or neurological conditions but cannot tolerate pain medication or anti-inflammatories ( NSAIDs).
Treating the whole body not just the area of concern, regular clinical massage keeps those lovely muscles mobile, supple, flexible and less prone to injury.
Core Conditioning Programmes
Poor core strength and body awareness result in slower speeds, reduced focus, inflexibility and flagging energy levels. Poor footwork leads to mistimed obstacles, accidents and an increased likelihood of injury.
CCA Core Conditioning for the canine athlete is literally the difference between winning or losing. For our pet dogs, these programmes are life-changing.
Clinical Massage and The Canine Patient
Angela is a member of the Canine Massage Guild (CMG) and the International Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT).
She is fully insured and undertakes an average 50 hrs additional CPD p.a. Having completed the extensive 2-year training programme Angela has been in clinical practice for over 5 years working with vets and owners to address areas of compensation, muscle splinting and soft tissue injury to improve range of movement, mobility and reduce pain levels.
Using 4 modalities of massage, what really sets this type of massage apart from others is the Lenton Method™; a set of direct myofascial release protocols designed specifically to complement the dogs’ anatomy, body-mapping which addresses common areas of muscular injury, myofascial pain and active trigger points and by using a systematic palpation routine Angela will assess muscles from origin and insertion to fibre direction.
