Hi I’m Mr Welby and I became part of the PetStay team in December 2014 – My ‘mum’ (Jane) has now been running PetStay since May 2014 and she has been telling me how popular she is, I do get a little jealous when she is talking to all these other ‘mum’s & dad’s’, about their dogs going on such wonderful holidays to their PetStay carers. When we are out walking I tell all my friends about PetStay and suggest that they get themselves booked in.

It is a great idea going to stay in someone home, they always make me so welcome giving my lots of love and attention but so I don’t get homesick I get to take my own bed and some toys – not all of them as they don’t fit in my suitcase! I also get the use of their garden and it’s so much fun exploring a new garden. Some of the carers have their own dog, so not only do I get my own holiday I have a playmate whilst I am there! I think I am lucky as I have never been in these ‘kennels’ my friends tell me about but this Home Boarding certainly sounds a much nicer idea!

The carers I have met have been so kind caring and loving, some have a little stock of dog biscuits for me, they always check if I am allowed one first though, and ‘mum’ says yes but I must sit first – because of this I only give carers 9/10, ‘mum’ thinks it is good that they follow all her instructions so gives 10/10, I think it would be better if ‘rules’ did not have to go on holiday with me!

So come on ‘Mum and Dad’ book me a relaxing break, and then find yourself a nice holiday – you know we all deserve it!

Because us doggies love going on our holidays to PetStay so much we are always looking out for new carers, I say we because this is the best part of my job – other than an actual holiday! once ‘mum’ has talked to the carers, that is when I become involved, as we have to go out and interview the carers, because I can be such a cheeky little chap I think ‘mum’ feels if they can cope with me then they will be fine as a carer – so if you think you would like to look after me or my friends in your own home, please give us a call and we can arrange a meeting – I look forward to meeting you.

The PetStay service is ALL about your dog being happy in a safe and comfortable environment. Unlike kennels, your dog will live in the carer's home as one of the family, this means that their normal everyday routines can be maintained and there are plenty of safeguards in place so there is no need for cages.

Your dog will be matched with a carer who is best suited to their individual needs and requirements, for example, if your dog prefers their own company you can choose to board your dog alone or if your dog is a social butterfly they can stay with a carer who already has a dog.  

You will then be invited to visit with the chosen carer for a 'first date' this is done before any bookings are confirmed or payments made. PetStay will only board dog(s) from the same home with a carer.
