Animal pregnancy ultrasound scanning is ideal at 28-35 days gestation. At this stage, the scan will reveal each puppy/kitten for viability or absorption.
Janine is available to scan your pet the same day, evening, at weekends and through the night if you’re worried.
What Does A Pregnancy Scan Entail?
A scan can take anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes, if she isn’t pregnant, the scan is likely to be quick. They do not have to be lying down to be scanned, they can stand if it makes them more comfortable.
If your pet has a thick or hairy coat, it may be necessary to shave a tiny patch of hair along the midlife in order to capture clearer images. Ultrasound gel is applied to your dog’s stomach, it's water-based and completely harmless - it allows the sound waves to pass from the transducer head to your dog.
