South Essex covers the entire SS postcode and some CM postcodes. We offer a home-from-home environment for your dog/s using carefully selected local Essex carers, all of whom are fully insured by our third Party Liability Insurance and follow the strict guidelines set out by DEFRA.
Each carer will provide the very best possible care for your dog/s whilst you are away on holiday or business giving you complete peace of mind. After all, your dog/s deserves a holiday too!
A “meet & greet” session is arranged before any stay so that you, your dog and your carer can ensure that everyone is thrilled with the match and are familiar with each other before booking.
Their service is bespoke to the needs of your dog/s and all stays are exclusive, which means they do not mix guest dogs. Staying in a home environment means your dog will get lots of love and personal attention from your carer who will treat your dog as their own, something which is very important both to you and them.

Hello, we are Jo & Emma, mother and daughter, and proud owners of the South Essex branch of Petstay. We are lifelong dog lovers and after 14 very happy years with our Tibetan Terrier, Ollie, we chose to become carers. Nearly two years on, after caring for many beloved dogs in our home the opportunity arose to take our involvement to the next level and we are now owners of Petstay South Essex. Whilst we will be running Petstay South Essex from home we will still offer our services as carers as this remains our overriding passion.

Obviously I was a bit dubious about leaving Harry with someone I did not know but could tell when I first met Maureen that she is a lovely lady who cares a lot for dogs. When we went to pick Harry up, he did the normal going nuts as he was pleased to see us, but after he had calmed down he went straight back to Maureen which proved to us that he was well looked after and that he had a great time. Thank you Maureen and Petstay for caring for my pooch.

This was Teddy & Beau's first visit to stay with Mandy & Gary and am so pleased that we found you both!! Teddy & Beau were well looked after and totally spoilt and were very comfortable in their home. I had regular updates from mandy along with pics of the boys as we were away for 3 weeks,this was a lovely touch as i missed them lots. They seemed so settled that i was worried they would not want to come home ha ha.I have re-booked with mandy & Gary for another stay and would highly recommend them. Thank you so much xx

We were very happy with Buddy’s stay with Lisa and Dean. It was the first time Buddy had been away from home, and as he cannot be left on his own we were anxious about how he would get on. We need’t have been as to allay our worries Lisa was happy to FaceTime and we saw Buddy perfectly happy playing in the nice, homely family atmosphere.

Was so glad my friend introduced me to PetStay, my Pixie was very comfortable at Dawn and Peters. Such a super couple sent me a picture and Pixie was straight at home there, if she could talk I am sure she would want to be there a lot more, to have these people who take great care of your dog is absolutely fantastic I am sure she got all the love she wanted No hesitation in booking her up again. Our two Border Terrorists Twizzle and Betty have had such fun staying with Jo and the family , they have had three visits so far and rush in each time without a backward glance so much for loyalty!! Lyn & Paul were fantastic, we were so happy that Jo from Pet Stay had introduced us to Lyn & Paul. Everything was done in a professional way and they were such lovely people...its like a home from home. Our 3year old pug coco had a brilliant time. I thought I would be really worried about leaving Chester with a stranger but Maureen, the lady who he stayed with, put my mind completely at ease. She is a lovely lady and made me feel very comfortable with leaving him with her. I could tell straight from the first meeting that she is a big dog lover and would treat Chester extremely well! When I collected him he seemed very happy and content with his stay and I would definitely use pet stay again!

This was our very first time leaving our Jack Russell Missie with the pet sitters, our verdict is excellent, could not ask for better, from contacting Pet Stay, booking, arranging , meeting and finally leaving and collecting Missie was a hassle free, pleasant experience and one which we will certainly do again, a very big thank you to Derrick and Vivian, who looked after Missie just as we would do, can't ask for better than that.
Missie is a nervous little dog and we were very anxious leaving her, but we need not have worried, she came home happy with a waggy tail and am sure she will not mind a repeat performance. Thank yo to all concerned. x

I can not recommended Jo highly enough, for her total devotion to our precious Angus during his recent "holiday" with her. He was so at home and obviously very content when we went to collect him, and I actually think he stole a small piece if Jo's heart as we left. I left my dog Millie with Dawn for near on 3 weeks while I went on a cruise. I was a bit nervous at first as I hadn't left her for that long before.
My nerves disappeared as soon as I got to the house as Dawn made Millie welcomed and comfortable. I could see straight aw at that Millie was going to have a good holiday as well as me.
I was sent pictures on regular occasions on how Millie was doing and where she had gone for walks.
Millie is a nervous, sensitive dog but was treated very well and looked after as well as I look after her. I would highly recommend Petstay and their carers.

Jo was incredible from start to finish. Our boy is a big dog, and we were initially apprehensive about leaving him with strangers. He is a rescue that has only been with us for a few months, and we wanted to ensure he did not feel abandoned again. Jo and her family put our fears to rest immediately, really making an effort to get to know Loki and all his rescue dog quirks. Being such a large dog, they knew how to handle him brilliantly. Jo took notes throughout the whole of the first meeting to ensure all our training efforts continued over the weekend. He had an amazing big garden to play in all weekend, and was not left a second without a bit of attention. Jo and family are the best dog sitters by far, and we look forward to using them again in the near future.

I used Pet Stay Essex for the first time last September. From the time i spoke to Kate things fell into place very quickly. I met Jo who would be looking after our dog Kye. She was lovely and made Kye and myself feel very much at home. From the time i left Kye with Jo i had no worries as i knew he would be looked after like a king. He was happy for me to leave him which helped me. I was offered to have photos sent to me of Kye while we were away. I had peace of mind that Kye would be well looked after. I could not fault Jo and her family they were excellant in looking after Kye. When i picked him up he was a very happy dog and i could tell he had enjoyed his stay. I have booked to use Pet Stay Essex this May. Kye and his new brother are going to stay with \jo and family again. Thank you Jo and Pet Stay Essex for helping put my mind at ease when leaving my dogs for us to have a holiday as its like home from home for them. We was looking for someone to look after our 2 springer spaniels whilst we went on our summer holiday and got in contact with Katie and Steve who were very professional and helpful and understood how anxious I was about leaving them for the first time. We was put in contact with one of the carers and had a very successful meeting and things were put into place for our dogs stay. Whilst we were on holiday we were sent emails and pictures which was a very nice touch and left us feeling very relieved knowing they were happy and being very well cared for. I would definitely recommend Petstay they are so helpful and offer a fantastic service we are using them again next month and hopefully later on in the year ,fingers crossed they will have a carer avaliable .
