A home from home for cats in Heathfield, Sussex

A well established, popular Cattery in a quiet rural location.

Chequer Trees Cattery is a modern bright cattery in a quiet rural location.

At Chequer Trees Cattery the comfort, wellbeing and security of your cat is their prime concern. While you are away you can have the peace of mind that comes from knowing your beloved cat, a part of your family, is being well cared for.

After over a decade of running Chequer Trees Cattery and a lifetime of caring for her own cats, Jenny, the hands-on owner, has wide experience and knowledge to draw on.

A quiet routine, the correct feeding regime, warmth, comfortable bedding, toys and appropriate interaction as well as a peaceful view across a meadow full of insects and birds ensures that the boarding cats have a relaxing stay. Right from the start, back in 2005, owners were commenting that they had never known their cats return from a Cattery so relaxed and calm.

Many of the ‘regulars’ book their cats’ accommodation before they book their own holidays as they would not wish their cats to stay anywhere else.

Cats like the regular routine. They also appreciate the quiet, calm setting. The pens are purpose built with a double glazed, heated and insulated sleeping section, and an outer area where they can enjoy the fresh air and countryside sounds.

Cats do not come into direct contact with one another and the pens are completely disinfected between boarders. There are no shared areas with the potential for cross infection: cleanliness and biohazard control are taken very seriously.

Jenny makes a point of getting to know each cat as an individual, finding out their likes and dislikes to help make the stay as stress-free as possible.

“I have lived with cats all my life and know how important cats are in peoples’ lives. Every cat that stays here gets the same care and attention that my own cats enjoy.” Jenny
