I was with this surgery for 13 years and the standard of care, communication and helpful attitude were second to none.
I had my vet for the best vet in the World... until... a new school leaver arrived. The vet was asked to take a blood sample. She extensively shaved my dog's neck without consulting me and without explaining what she intends to do. Then she frantically prodded my dog with a needle in an area of about 10 cm in radius. When not succeeding, she blamed my dog, saying that the dog "refuses to give". I took the dog to the next surgery where a vet took a blood sample from the leg without any problem at first attempt and without shaving the dog.
I enquired about this with the RCVS and they replied that my experience falls within their standard of care.
